Last Friday and Saturday, I rode over 560 miles putting out flyers on a ride we're having this weekend in memorial of a police officer killed in the line of duty 5 years ago. Blue Knights had put this ride on for three years, then the local chapter dissolved, so there was no memorial ride this year. I had lots of people say they'd help me with it when we started talking about it, but now that it's here, haven't seen any of that help yet. But, I can say the word is out on it. Personally delivered the flyers to at least 30 different locations and some of those places took extras to put out at other locations. All the proceeds will go to a scholarship fund named for the slain officer, Sgt. Andy T. Bailey.
Wolftracker...what a great friend you are to keep his memory alive. I hope your ride does well. Can't wait to hear more about it. Take pics to post.
We had about 25 - 30 riders participate. Those that I talked to after the ride said they really enjoyed the route. I had some country type roads and some secondary highway riding. About 2 hours of riding time plus a 30 minute break for everyone to get off and stretch and get something to drink if they wanted it.
Must say, I learned a lot in the last couple of weeks. I'll try to get some pictures posted in the next few days.
That is great Wolftracker....hope you made lots of money. I am sure everyone enjoyed it. Can't wait to see the pics.
